The critical research essay was the final paper of the fall semester challenging us to create our own thesis based on a reading we completed and defend it with textual evidence. The process I went through while writing this was slightly longer than the other papers since it also involved in depth reading over and over. Writing the thesis took a while as well since it had to be able to be argued and well defended. I feel that I met my standards as I created a long argumentative piece that involved every point I wanted to bring up. I feel I would grade this piece anywhere from an 80 or higher. I think this because there is always room for improvement but it is a strong piece and I feel my thesis is really strong. One goal I would set for myself next time is mapping out the essay better because I did face some issues with formatting and the ordering of the paragraphs.
